How to Find Brand Inspiration on Pinterest

Blogging is hard. If you've hit a wall and need fresh ideas, Pinterest is the perfect place to find brand inspiration.

As bloggers, we're looking at our website all the time, and things can get stale. Creating a secret Pinterest board to stash away ideas can help shake some new life into your brand without a total makeover.

You build trust with your readers when they see the elements of your brand over time. This is a mini-makeover to re-boot your ideas, none of your more significant brand ideals are changing.

Be prepared to allow yourself to hop into the rabbit hole of endless brand inspiration on Pinterest.

Ideas to find brand inspiration on Pinterest!

Step One: Create a new secret board

To add a new board from your profile:
  1. Click your profile button at the top of Pinterest
  2. Click the Create a board box at the top of your list of boards
  3. Choose a name and category for your board – you can also choose to make the board secret or invite others to join the board
  4. Click Create Board when finished to create the board
Only you (and anyone you ask) can see secret boards. When you save a Pin to a secret board, it won’t show up anywhere else on Pinterest.

Step Two: Search for photos that inspire you

We'll pretend our brand's primary color is yellow. Type YELLOW into the top search bar and hit return.

Check out the beautiful Pins that populate the search! I could seriously stop right here and start working on ideas. Pin the things that speak to you and make sure to scroll down as well as expand Pins you love to see related Pins.

Step Four: Check out your niche

It's important to see what other people in your niche are doing but don't get too focused on scoping out the competition. It's better to take a peek and then get back to work on your brand.

Be unique and 100% you so people can connect with the real you. People like to do business with people that they know, like, and trust. Show them what you've got!

Step Five: Dive into some articles

Maybe there are a few things that you need to learn to get to the next level with your blog or business? I know I always have new things to learn. Pick one topic and dig in deep into something like:

  • boost your email list
  • create lead magnets
  • add a custom Pinterest button

Step Six: Make an action list

Ok, your brain is now overflowing with ideas! Yah! I hope you've pinned a lot of things to your new board. You could sort it by adding sections if you added all different kinds of Pins.

Make a list of ideas that you can implement to resurge your brand. Whether you try a new style of graphic or create some new techniques to help people find your blog, grab this surge of inspiration and turn it into actionable steps to refresh your brand.

While it's important to stay on brand with your colors and fonts, you can add a new twist and keep things interesting for you and your ideal audience. Use this secret board to Pin brand inspiration whenever you see it, and then you can refer back when you need a boost.
