Time to Get Your Happy On!

Sharing is caring!

“The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They make the best of everything.” Unknown

happyThis can certainly be you. The Purpose Fairy is a fantastic place to absorb some “raw, honest wisdom.” Inย 8 Secrets of the Happiest People on Earth,ย one of my favorite points is that “happy people look for the light.” I've found that looking on the bright side of everything has made a huge impact on my life overall. I don't have a perfect life, no one does, but it is perfect for me and I look for the positive things I love and work on things that I can. I've found that if you're radiating a positive glow, it reflects back to you.

โ€œPeople are just as happy as they make up their minds to be.โ€ Abraham Lincoln

I've had people who just get ruffled by positive attitudes and lash out due to their own anxious or paranoid thoughts but I am who I am. The very few people who truly can't take it, hit the road. Every person isn't going to like every other person. And that's ok.

Life isn't all puppies and rainbows but make the most of your life and find your own happiness. {click to tweet}

My happiness role model was my grandma. She was the happiest, lightest being. She didn't have the easiest life, by far she may have had the hardest life of anyone I've known, but every single day she rose with a smile and kind words for everyone she encountered. She worked at a grocery store for many, many years rising at 5:00 am to get to work. She used to bake cakes from scratch for her family to have at dinner each night. I also learned from my grandma that baking is love and I try to share that with my family as well.

Making other people happy, makes me happy.

So what can you do today to start seeing the happiness in your life? I know it's there!ย

  1. I love the story about your grandmother. Amazing how some people, no matter their circumstance, make the best of any situation and in doing so have a profound effect on others lives. You can trace your love of baking back to her. What a wonderful gift she gave you!

  2. I needed to read this, happiness is something I struggle with but I’m fighting that right.
    Like Rebekah says the story of your grandmother is amazing, I want to be that way!

  3. AThriftyMrsย I bet you can get there. The Purpose Fairy has lots of great articles on the topic. I loved the suggestions in 8 secrets of happy people.

  4. Lately, I been slapped by the fact that I had to be happy with what I have and not because that I’m greater than other people. That’s a very positive attitude you have @PegFitzpatrick. Being contented with yourself and becoming a blessing to others are what we should always consider, that’s where true happiness comes. I usually make comparison and get insecure because all I see is what I lack and what I don’t possess. It’s terribly unhealthy for us to think that way. Thanks Peg. You been part of the realization. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. BelindaSummersย There’s a quote that I don’t know who said it but the gist of it is don’t compare yourself to others final product when you are in the unedited mode (I’ll have to find the quote). We look at magazines with airbrushed, photoshopped celebs, neighbors with perfect lawns and well-behaved pets and think why isn’t that me? Why not be like “Yay! This is me!” I just try to be the best me that I can me. It sounds so simple, Belinda, but honestly it takes a lot of pressure off to be something else.
    Learning these things maybe be the only benefit of getting older.

  6. PegFitzpatrickย BelindaSummersย Thanks. It’s awkward but I guess it’s a natural feeling. I’m happy that I’m slowly overcoming that odd guts. I’d just read that latest blog post above. ๐Ÿ™‚
