Joy according to Merriam Webster's Dictionary:

a : the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires :delight

b : the expression or exhibition of such emotion : gaiety 2. : a state of happiness or felicity : bliss, a source or cause of delight.

Even the definition makes you feel happy. Of all the attribute names (Felicity, Grace, Patience for a few examples) Joy is the one that I love the most, I would strive towards grace but given my high energy state,  joy is something that I feel I am closer to obtaining. Joy is something that shared comes back to you tenfold – like a smile. Spreading the joy that you feel with others amplifies it and spreads it like a ray of sunshine.

  2. Awesome addition Brian – gotta love those smart pastors. Especially important to remember driving and shopping during the holidays. It sure makes people cranky. They forget the whole reason they are out.

  3. Love, love, love this post! I always describe my daughter as someone who expects to find joy around every corner, and does! Have an expectation mindset of joy helps!

  4. Peggy, love this post! We have a Christmas ornament permanently hanging over our fireplace at home–It’s a white star with green polka dots and written in red: “Joy.” Joy is our goal every day…
